This release adds unsigned Windows x64 and ia32 NSIS installers, improves document retry and MCP configuration handling, and fixes startup and stability issues.

What's new in 1.4.0

New

  • Added unsigned Windows x64 and ia32 NSIS installers.

Improvements

  • Documents that fail validation while opening can now be retried instead of blocking startup.
  • Invalid MCP configuration is now preserved instead of being dropped, and oversized input no longer destabilizes the app.
  • Preserved writeback documents and contained IPC serialization failures.

Fixes

  • Fixed a startup crash that could prevent the app from opening when a packaged runtime file was missing.
  • Hardened protocol and persistence flows to reduce instability.

Install

Download Powerduck 1.4.0 for macOS, Linux, and the Windows beta from the download page.

The Windows beta is not yet code-signed, so Windows shows a one-time SmartScreen prompt: choose More info, then Run anyway.
